Activities will be planned in advance for all children in our care and we aim to provide a variety and diversity in order to encourage children’s social and physical development. We will review and amend them on a regular basis, in order to continually stimulate the children and staff and to take advantage of seasonal opportunities.  
 

0800 – Hello, come in and pick a toy(s) to play with until breakfast
An opportunity in most cases, for parent/carer to have informal chat – sharing any new information that might directly affect the child’s care, behaviour or mood.
0830 – Breakfast starts to be served
0900 – Free play
0930 – Variety of pre-planned activities
1145 – Lunch
1215 – Free play
1245 – Variety of pre-planned activities
1530 – Tea
1600 – Free play
1630 – Variety of pre-planned activities
1800 – Goodbye, see you again soon.
Another opportunity, in most cases, for parent/carer to have informal chat – sharing news of your child’s day and any new developments.

 
 

Daily activities will include songs & rhymes, music & movement, outdoor play, walks to the park, arts & crafts, puzzles/play dough, sand & water play, baking, role play, story time to name but a few and not forgetting tidy up times.

Babies’ nappies will be checked continuously throughout the day, with particular attention given after meal times.

Older children will be encouraged to wash their hands after toileting and before meals.

Older children will also be encouraged to help with setting tables for meal times.

Baby sleep patterns will be discussed with the parent/carer and adhered to as much as possible, but the baby’s needs will always come first.

Toddlers who have a nap will in the main be encourage to do this after lunch, although if a child falls asleep at another time of the day (unless expressly requested not) they will be allowed to sleep. The length of the nap will be discussed with the parent, to fulfil each individual child’s needs.

In addition a mid-morning snack consisting of variations of fresh fruit, fresh vegetables and dried fruit will also be offered.

A vegetarian option will be available daily where required.

The menus will operate on a 5 week rotation and each parent/carer will be supplied with a personal copy, there will also be a menu on the main notice board and parents/carers will be updated with any changes.

Please advise us if your child has any particular dietary requirement or preferences and these will be adhered to (in certain cases there may need to be a nominal additional charge for these, but this will be discussed).

For babies that are being weaned we will provide rusks and liquidise, mash, slice etc, as appropriate their food.

All Baby milk must be supplied by the parent/carer, in fully labelled bottles, which will be kept in named baskets in the milk fridge until required.

Water will be available to all babies and children at all times and will be actively offered, especially in hot weather, this also applies to babies, whose water will be boiled and they will automatically be offered a bottle when they awake from a nap.

All food is freshly prepared on site daily, using fresh ingredients. No processed food is used and even dishes such as fish fingers and burgers including vegetarian are freshly prepared on the premises, not bought in.
